About Alexandra Horton

Alex has over 20 years experience as an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist in musculoskeletal health. Through her clinical work, she developed a strong interest in coaching after recognising the importance of a whole-person, mind–body approach when addressing the wider factors influencing health and wellbeing.

She trained as a Health Coach with the highly respected Institute of Integrative Nutrition and later completed specialist training with the British Menopause Society following her own experiences of perimenopause, including the highly traumatic premenstrual dysphoric disorder and extreme fluctuations in daytime fatigue. Her work now focuses on supporting women, families, and organisations to better understand and navigate the challenges of perimenopause, menopause and midlife.

Alex strongly believes that sleep is the cornerstone of wellbeing and is excited to share that she will be undertaking the internationally renowned Edinburgh Sleep Course in May 2026, to provide specific evidence-based support for clients experiencing sleep difficulties.

About Thrive Consultancy

As we move through 2026, menopause support in the workplace is rapidly shifting from a wellbeing initiative and corporate social responsibility to a business and compliance priority.

We work with Organisations of any size to embed menopause-friendly practices and values. Those with 250+ employees will be legally required to have a menopause action plan in place by Spring 2027 and forward-thinking organisations are already moving towards this. Employers are increasingly expected to demonstrate clear policies, training, and measurable support for employees experiencing menopause.

At Thrive we provide comprehensive training packages to organisations with the aim of destigmatising menopause and creating culture change. In turn this creates an inclusive and diverse workplace where staff feel safe, understood and supported.

We provide training to identify the impact of the menopause on your employees and the wider organisation and work collaboratively to develop a workplace strategy and action plan. These initiatives strengthen retention of skilled women, reduce absenteeism and increase productivity.

Services include:

  • Comprehensive Menopause Awareness Training (Organisation-Wide)
  • Manager Capability Training
  • High-Impact, In-Person Leadership Workshops
  • Strategic partnerships developing menopause action plans and implementing coaching support packages (1:1 and group).
